Floating private members' club proposed for London's Canary Wharf
Planning permission has been sought to open a five-storey private members' club in Canary Wharf, on a pontoon overlooking Bank Street, in early 2018.
The building will be made from aluminium and house a bar, restaurant, private dining area, members' lounges and accommodation, a gym, treatment studio and open terrace overlooking Middle Dock. The top floor will feature an open roof terrace.
A report by Adamson Associates, the architects behind the Quay Club, said: "The vision for the club is to be globally the most desirable and inspirational private members' club for the urban professional. Upon the successful launch, the aim is to create sister clubs in the key financial centres of the world - with Dubai, New York, Singapore and Shanghai shortlisted."
Alice Chadwyck-Healey, executive director of the Arts Club, told the http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/attractions/canary-wharf-to-get-first-private-members-club-which-will-float-a3374081.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Evening Standard "[The club] contains the demographic which fits with what we are trying to do.
