Openings this week: Lost & Found, Aquum, the Botanist Sheffield and more
A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors
Lost & Found
Revere has opened a third Lost & Found in Knutsford, Cheshire, following venues in Leeds and Birmingham. Situated in a Grade II-listed former town hall, created by Natural History Museum designer Alfred Waterhouse, the two-tiered bar and restaurant is the biggest Lost & Found site yet, at 4,133 sq ft.
Like the other venues, it is named after a fictional Victorian character, Emily B Kingsley, a professor of lepidoptera. The interior is reminiscent of a Victorian botanical hideaway, with moth and butterfly wallpapers, pendant lights and hanging floral arrangements. Preserved original features include gothic doors, arches and dark wooden floorboards.
Typical Lost & Found elements include lock and key motifs throughout and a ‘secret bar'. The drinks list incorporates a range of ‘Found' cocktails alongside signature ‘Lost' cocktails: re-interpretations of forgotten classics. Artisan and craft beers are also available.
