Clayton hotel in Cardiff sold for £24m

Dalata Hotels has bought the Clayton hotel in Cardiff for £24m.

The 216-bedroom hotel, with seven conference rooms, is situated in the city centre close to Cardiff Central station.

Dermot Crowley, deputy chief executive at Dalata Hotels, said: "Clayton Hotel Cardiff has performed very strongly this year. We are delighted to be able to purchase the freehold interest of the hotel. This transaction is consistent with our stated strategy of buying out the freehold interests of those leased properties with future unpredictable rent reviews."

Dalata, which is Ireland's largest hotel operator, was advised by Savills on the deal.
