Porky's owners buy David Moore's One Sixty in West Hampstead

Porky's barbecue owners Simon and Joy Brigg have bought the site formerly occupied by David Moore's One Sixty in West Hampstead, London, to launch a new brand.

Moore and fellow majority shareholder Sean Martin made the sale last week and the site has already rebranded as One Bourbon Tavern.

All existing staff will transfer as part of the deal.

One Bourbon Tavern will be the first of a new brand, designed to complement the Briggs' five Porky's barbecue restaurants. Its Crouch End site will also be rebranded as One Bourbon Tavern. The name comes from the song ‘One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer' made famous by John Lee Hooker.

The restaurant will focus on beef ribs and brisket and feature 15 taps of craft beer along with bourbon-based cocktails.

A spokesperson for Porky's said: "There has been much speculation about this since last month's closure of Porky's Crouch End, but yes, One Bourbon Tavern will be expanding over to North London taking over the former site, and is due to open next week. Other than that, there are no decisions surrounding further expansions, however they are pushing forward with a couple new sites for Porky's in the pipeline."

Moore said that he and Martin had enjoyed creating their first barbecue smokehouse in West Hampstead.

He added: "The restaurant proved to be enormously popular but the right offer came in, so we reluctantly sold."

He will continue as non-executive director of One Sixty City, near Liverpool Street Station in London.
