New Ivy offshoot to open in Cobham, Surrey

Richard Caring's Ivy Collections, the business behind the rapid expansion of the Ivy brand, is to open a new Ivy restaurant on the site of the short-lived La Rive in Cobham, Surrey.

Caring's Ivy Collections Ltd has applied to the local borough council for a variation of a premises licence on the site in order to change the layout and convert it into an Ivy Café. The hours and licensable activities of the site will not change.

La Rive, launched by Simon Rand and Eric Payet in October 2015, remained open barely a year before closing again to make way for the latest venture from Caring's Caprice Holdings.

Caprice Holdings' Ivy Collections has launched several new restaurants off the back of the reputation of the Ivy in 1-5 West Street, which was recently refurbished.

Although only launched in November last year at its original Marylebone Street restaurant in London, the Ivy Café brand now numbers three sites, with the most recent opening in London's St John's Wood last month.

There are now also four Ivy Grills & Brasseries, in London's Chelsea, Covent Garden and Kensington, as well as in Bristol.

A spokesperson for Caprice Holdings confirmed that a café-style brasserie would open on the site in spring 2017, offering all-day dining seven days a week.
