In a bid to get closer to Airbnb guests, Bermondsey Square hotel in Southwark, London, is offering a variety of services for owners of apartments who are renting out their properties via the online service.

The 90-bedroom hotel will offer housekeeping services, key management and maintenance, as well as act as a point of contact for rental apartments within a one mile radius, from 12 November. Keys can be collected from the Bermondsey Square Hotel, and after check out guests can leave their bags in the hotel.

The hotel said that it can offer "a safe and secure environment" for guests who may be hesitant about booking an Airbnb style property or new rental apartment. Guests can also access a 24-hour support service, which ensures a manager from the hotel will be on site within 30 minutes.

It is believed to be the first time that a hotel has offered such a service in an attempt to establish a relationship with Airbnb guests.

The owners of the apartments will receive support from the hotel with regard linen hire, deep cleaning, room servicing and more. Minor maintenance queries are dealt with immediately, while contractors and tradesmen can be sent to the property to handle larger maintenance issues.
