Sanchez Brothers open third restaurant at Bristol's the General

Sanchez Brothers co-founder Peter Sanchez-Iglesias is to open Paco Tapas in Bristol next week.

The restaurant will be situated in the same former Bristol development on Lower Guinea Street as the group's pizza restaurant Pi Shop, which opened in July, and the Michelin-starred Casamia, which relocated from Westbury-on-Trym in January.

Named after the Sanchez brothers' father, the waterside restaurant at the General (on the site of the old General Hospital) will feature traditional tapas alongside new interpretations devised by Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, cooked on a robata grill.

Peter Sanchez-Iglesias opened Casamia in Westbury-on-Trym with his brother Jonray having taken on their parents' restaurant. Jonray passed away aged just 32 in November 2015, and Peter moved Casamia to its current city centre location before opening Pi Shop and now Paco Tapas.

City & Country's managing director Helen Moore said she had been impressed by what Sanchez Brothers had brought to the General development.

She added: "Together these three restaurants have helped to write the next chapter of history for The General, firmly putting the area on the map not only as the smart new address in Bristol but also as a hugely exciting food destination."
