Second Hyatt Place hotel in UK to open at Heathrow Airport
The 350-bedroom Heathrow Hotel Bath Road is to be rebranded as a Hyatt Place hotel, becoming the second property at the airport operating under the upscale select brand from the Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Due to open in early 2017, the Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport on Bath Road will join the Hyatt Place London Heathrow Hayes, which opened on nearby Uxbridge Road in May.
Cycas Hospitality will manage the property under a franchise agreement between Hyatt Hotels Corporation and M&L Hospitality, a Singapore-based real estate investment trust, which acquired the hotel last year when it was known as the Arora Hotel Heathrow.
There are currently more than 260 Hyatt Place hotels located in 16 countries.
Neil Maxwell, chief executive officer, M&L Hospitality, added: "After extensive upgrades to the hotel, including a full refurbishment of all guest rooms and public areas, we believe the Hyatt Place brand is the right fit for the hotel and Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport will exceed guest expectations while visiting or passing through London."
The hotel, which will become the fifth Hyatt-branded hotel in the UK, will offer a 24/7 grab and go food offer and a 24-hour gym.
M&L owns 13 hotels worldwide operating under a number of international hotel brands. Its UK portfolio includes two dual hotel sites in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group: Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites at Stratford City, East London; and Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites, which are due to open in 2017 on the University of Manchester campus.
