New Inn let to Cotswolds hospitality operator
The 15-bedroom, 65-cover New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns near Bibury, Gloucestershire, which formerly held two red AA stars, has been let to hospitality operator Archie Orr-Ewing.
Orr-Ewing oversees a portfolio of properties, including the Swan Inn at Swinbrook near Burford on a lease from the Mitford Family Trust, and the King's Head Inn at Bledington near Stow-on-the-Wold.
The Cripps Barn Group added the inn to its wedding barn portfolio three years ago but has decided to return to its core business.
The deal was brokered by Colliers International hotels director Peter Brunt.
"The New Inn makes an excellent addition to this high-performing portfolio," he said. "We sold the property in 2003 when it was rated as one of the AA's Top 200 hotels in the country. Since then the property has remained a great business, but not arguably had the profile it once enjoyed. I am sure that Archie's involvement will change that."
Brunt said the New Inn had been marketed very confidentially but had attracted strong interest: "Unashamedly upmarket, the New Inn caters for a well-heeled local population which ensures the very highest standards are expected and delivered."
