Save energy

Ceiling fans save energy as well as cooling guests, according to CeilingFansEurope, which delivers US-made Hunter ceiling fans direct to users. The company points out that in summer, the downdraught from a ceiling fan can make people feel up to 5°C cooler and, if air-conditioning is fitted, fuel bills can be reduced by up to 40 per cent. In the winter, ceiling fans can reverse direction to circulate the air trapped at ceiling level, helping to save up to 10 per cent on heating costs.

Hunter fans, first introduced in the USA in 1886, come in various decorative styles and are claimed to be wobble free thanks to the use of weighed and matched blades.
