It’s National Vegetarian Week from Monday 8 July to Sunday 14 July, so it makes sense to capitalise on this nation-wide promotional campaign.

There are about three million vegetarians in the UK – five per cent of the adult population. In the last 10 years, the number of vegetarians in the UK has virtually doubled.

To commemorate this special week, The Vegetarian Society has published a new free full colour Catering Booklet for Professional Chefs. It features recipes from around the world using veggie ingredients. The Caterers Publicity Pack includes posters and literature to support the week. As part of the week’s activities, the Vegetarian Society will be hosting the 35th World Vegetarian Congress “Food for all our Futures” in Edinburgh.
