Airbnb announces partnership with Ducasse's Châteaux & Hôtels

The collaboration will involve four new gastronomic experiences in Paris being offered via the platform, as well as featuring ChÁ¢teaux & Hôtels Collection rooms on the site.

The experiences include chocolate making with chocolatier Nicolas Berger, mixology with Marjolaine Arpin, mixologist at Paris's Champeaux restaurant, and French market trawling with the head chef of Citrus Etoile, Gilles Epié. Also on offer is a behind the scenes tour of Ducasse's Cooking School with its director, which includes its kitchens, wine cellar, wine tasting, a cooking lesson and lunch.

The experiences have been launched as part of Airbnb's Experiences feature within its Trips platform, which it launched in November. Trips suggests travel guides and activities for travellers, within which Experiences offers activities designed and led by local experts.

ChÁ¢teaux & Hôtels Collection champions independent hospitality businesses with more than 600 member hotels and restaurants, although most in France and Italy. In the UK this includes the Headlam Hall Country Hotel & Spa in Darlington, Durham, and La Suite West Hyde Park in London.

Emmanuel Marill, general manager, France, Airbnb, said: "Last month, we unveiled the most significant development in our eight-year history as Airbnb moved beyond accommodation with the launch of Trips. Today, we're thrilled to partner with one of the most iconic groups in travel. We share the same commitment to provide unique, local experiences from people and communities with fascinating talents and skills."

Ducasse, president of ChÁ¢teaux & Hôtels Collection, said: "ChÁ¢teaux & Hôtels Collection defends contemporary hospitality, combining well-eating and well-sleeping. The personality of each address is the breadcrumb trail that connects the houses of the Collection. In a globalised world, our desire is to offer unique, authentic experiences to travelers who are curious to discover Paris, France and Europe, off from the beaten track. "

Xavier Alberti, general manager of ChÁ¢teaux & Hôtels Collection, added: "We are pleased that our hoteliers can offer the Airbnb community the chance to discover their most unique rooms. This meeting is first and foremost the meeting of two travel actors, two innovative actors, who refuse preconceived ideas and who share the same vision of hospitality: travel must first and foremost be an experience. We are convinced that this partnership, between two complementary players in the world of travel, is at the service of the travellers of the world. "
