Tender Opportunity: Severndroog Castle – Contract Catering Concession
Severndroog Castle is a romantic 18th century Grade II-listed Gothic folly tower in the Shooters Hill woodlands with amazing panoramic views of London. It is locally known as London's best kept secret.
Severndroog is a unique and magical castle and its enviable location in one of last surviving parts of London's Ice Age forest, the Oxlease (now known as Oxleas Woods) makes it a highly desirable destination for everyone from walkers to wedding parties.
The castle has been lovingly restored by committed and passionate local volunteers and has been open for almost three years. In that period, there has been significant footfall which the castle would like to expand through increased hospitality and events.
The existing licence to operate a cafe comes to an end on 20 June 2017. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and passionate contract caterer to build and grow a business with a unique appeal which matches and complements the unique nature of the castle.
The contract caterer would offer a high quality daily tea room menu with organic, locally sourced and homemade foods and an exciting food experience for events.
All applicants must understand the charitable nature of a small organisation run by volunteers, have a proven track record in the food and catering industry, have a sound business model and clear financial sustainability, in particular relating to a start-up, and demonstrate technical competency and good public facing skills.
