Just Eat's UK orders up 31%

Online food delivery marketplace Just Eat saw its orders increase by 31% in the UK in 2016.

Its global like-for-like orders across the group rose by 36% and total orders, which included the Mexico and Australia businesses that it acquired in 2015, were up 42%, according to a full year order update.

CEO David Buttress said: "Just Eat's reported order growth puts us in a strong position to deliver full year results in line with our previous financial guidance. We enter 2017 with continuing confidence in the business."

In December 2016, the business bought rival Hungryhouse in a £200m deal.

The company's full year results are expected on 7 March.
