New creative catering collaboration Salt & Sauce launched in Scotland
A new catering collaboration has been launched by an award-winning chef and bartender duo in Scotland.
Salt & Sauce is the invention of Adrian Gomes of 10 Dollar Shake and Chris Tonner (pictured), formally of Beetroot Restaurants.
The start-up, based in Aberdeen, will cater for weddings, parties and corporate events across Scotland, offering contemporary food and drink personally tailored to the client. Dishes include confit duck, pistachio and apricot oatcake, beef shin croquette with blue cheese and a chargrilled aged sirloin with chipped potato and béarnaise sauce.
Gomes and Tonner have collaborated for years, with Gomes doing bar consultancy in Tonner's first restaurant and Tonner helping Gomes with the kitchens in his venues. They felt that launching a company together would result in a unique offering, with the same standards across both the catering and bar service.
Tonner said: "There is power in collaborating and working together and this creative partnership results in a strength and breadth of experience that's difficult to argue with.
"Myself and Adrian have a passion for following and experimenting with food and drink trends and can offer lifestyle food and drink which is carefully partnered and paired. For example, we could offer an abundance of local craft beers to go hand in hand with street food."
The venture will launch at the Your Wedding Exhibition at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 21 January.
