Flat Cap Hotels receives full planning consent for second hotel
Flat Cap Hotels has received full planning approval for its second hotel, the 42-bedroom Courthouse hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Cheshire East councillors approved the plans with conditions at the Northern Planning committee last week, despite concerns raised by town councillors over the hotel design and lack of parking.
The former crown court is being converted to house a 150-cover restaurant and bar and a 550-capacity function space, with the two existing wings to be converted into 10 luxury bedrooms in 2017 with the development of a 32-bedroom extension at the rear of the site to open in 2018.
The group was established by Oliver and Dominic Heywood with the launch of the 20-bedroom Vicarage Freehouse & Rooms in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. It plans to acquire five properties by 2019.
