D&D London is to launch two restaurants at the Leeds’ Victoria Gate development.
It plans to open Japanese restaurant Issho and has confirmed it will also operate a Manhattan-style rooftop bar and grill, named East 59th after its New York site at the £165m retail development which opened in October 2016.
The new sites will be the restaurant groups fourth in Leeds, joining Crafthouse and Angelica in the Leeds Trinity shopping centre.
Issho will feature a rooftop bar and outdoor terrace, along with a Robata grill where diners can sit and watch chefs prepare their food.
On the same 725 m sq plot, D&D will also operate East 59th, which will feature a US-inspired all-day grill menu.
D&D London chairman and chief executive Des Gunewardena said: “We are very excited to be opening two new restaurants in what is a spectacular rooftop space above the new Victoria Gate shopping centre. These will be our second significant ventures in Leeds.”
Sarah Fox, Head of Restaurant and Leisure at Hammerson, added: “It is a great result for Victoria Leeds’ dining offer that D&D has chosen to open a second restaurant. Both of the restaurant concepts provide a different and appealing offer that will no doubt prove popular with visitors.”
