Go-ahead given for £4m Northumberland hotel

A £4m, 30-bedroom hotel development at the Coquet Enterprise Park in Morpeth, Northumberland, has been given the green light.

The proposals were unanimously approved by Northumberland County Council's strategic planning committee earlier this week.

Overseen by Arch Developments, the council's business development arm, the project will include a 150-cover restaurant and bar. The operator of the hotel is yet to be announced.

It is anticipated that work will start on the hotel, just off the A1068 roundabout leading into Amble, with a view to being completed by spring 2018.

The development is expected to create around 35 full-time jobs once the hotel opens.
