Vibrant and creatively-designed bedrooms are the focus of the newly refurbished the Great House at Sonning, Berkshire.

Located on the banks of the River Thames, the 49-bedroom hotel will officially relaunch on 1 May.

Mark Standing of Crave Design and Ross Hunter of Graven Images were commissioned to design bedroom "different to the standard mainstream hotel". Their intention was to focus on attention to detail with retro radios and full length mirrors, creative space planning and quality finishes. Split into five categories, the bedrooms include family spaces with a dedicated kids' corner supplying toys and books.

The first stage of the Great House's refurbishment was the opening in 2015 of the Coppa Club, a combined restaurant, bar, coffee lounge and work-space. Coppa Club has since launched as a stand-alone concept in three locations in London: Tower Bridge, St Paul's and Oxford Circus.

Meanwhile, the final stage of the hotel's transformation will be the completion of a new events space made up of five interconnecting rooms with a terrace for meetings, wedding and other occasions.

Mudlark Hotels also owns the 34-bedroom Newbury Manor hotel in Newbury, Berkshire, which will reopen later in 2018 following a refurbishment.

Osmond's portfolio of properties includes the 45-bedroom Swan at Streatley, Berkshire, which is run separately from Mudlark Hotels.
