Cedabond announces another year of growth and 2017 award winners

Catering equipment buying group Cedabond has announced another year of financial and membership growth in its end-of-year chairman's report for 2016.

Turnover has exceeded £70 million, up by 32.5% on the previous year and the group now has 126 members with 18 new suppliers on board for the start of 2017.

Cedabond executive director, Phil Martin, commented: "We have run a steady ship this year and continued to improve our operation with all of the team working closely together. Despite Brexit, 2017 is looking very positive for Cedabond members. Our suppliers are working hard to minimise the effect of price increases on our members and we are also looking at ways to reduce our own costs, including a deal with a utility management company in a bid to reduce our members' utility costs."

Following the group's annual networking dinner this week, the 2017 Cedabond winners have been announced, and are:

• Most improved Supplier Light Equipment - DPS Tableware
• Most Improved Supplier Heavy Equipment - Hobart Independent
• Most Improved Member - Vision Commercial Kitchens

Additionally, the Bob McNab Charity Award was presented to Graham Massey, of GS Catering who has been a Cedabond member for 32 years.

Martin, added: "It was extremely difficult to select this year's winners, not only because of the huge number of entries but also because of the extremely high calibre. I would like to thank everyone who entered, and to congratulate all of our winners for their stellar performance this year."
