Renowned pastry chef Claire Clark, Nando’s, MEATliquor, Young’s Pubs and the Sustainable Restaurant Association have all been announced as speakers for the 2017 Commercial Kitchen Show.
Returning to the NEC Birmingham for its second year from 6-7 June, the show’s Keynote Theatre will also host 10 expert panels and a series of exclusive interviews.
Robert Quehan, formerly of the Ivy and now head chef at the Redwood Bistro at Bishopstoke Park (the UK’s first retirement village to be awarded an AA Rosette for its food) will appear on the schedule alongside Clark, who will be sharing insights from her extensive career, including the Ritz, Claridge’s and the French Laundry, and more recently, founding a new cookery school at Milton Keynes College.
Other speakers include Chris Knights, group executive chef at Young’s Pubs and Geronimo Inns, and Kumour Uddin, group executive chef at Anglian Country Inns, who will discuss how innovative equipment and design can play an integral role in helping to deliver speed, quality and consistency in a fast-paced pub kitchen environment.
The Catering Equipment Distributor’s Association (CEDA), the show’s lead partner, will also host an exclusive panel featuring five of its former chairs: Mark Drazen, managing director of Caterware; Nick Howe, managing director of Court Catering Equipment; Peter Kitchin, managing director of C&C Catering Equipment; Iain Munro, managing director of ScoMac Catering Equipment; and Jack Sharkey, managing director of Vision Commercial Kitchens. They will examine what it means to be a distributor in 2017 and beyond, and how projects, design and equipment will continue to connect the industry.
