Bristol Old Vic tender opportunity
Bristol Old Vic seeks to appoint a catering partner to operate its Café Bar and events business.
Situated in Bristol city centre, Bristol Old Vic is the oldest continuously working theatre in the United Kingdom, and celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2016.
The organisation aims to create pioneering 21st century theatre in partnership with the people of Bristol, inspired by the history and magical design of its beautiful playhouse.
In 2016, work began on the final phase of the building's £25m capital development, a long-awaited plan to transform the front of house into a warm and welcoming public space. Designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects Haworth Tompkins, the project is due for completion in autumn 2018.
A key part of this project will be a new street-front Café Bar and newly refurbished dedicated event spaces.
Bristol Old Vic is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced national, regional and independent caterers, interested in working in partnership to provide food, bar and events services. Applicants will need to share the organisation's passion for creativity and quality, and its deep commitment to the local community and city wide economy.
In awarding the contract, consideration will be given to the tender submission, overall value for money, professional quality and the applicant's commitment to developing the service in tandem with Bristol Old Vic's growth as a visitor destination.
In the first instance, please email Erick Muzard, Commercial Director (Emuzard@bristololdvic.org.uk) expressing your interest by Wednesday 10 May 2017 stating, on no more than two sides of A4, why you are interested in working in partnership with us and your organisation/individual background and relevant experience. We will then invite formal proposals to be submitted by 2 June 2017 from those selected, with a view of holding interviews on 8 June 2017.
