Samantha Ascroft appointed GM of Kedleston Country House

Samantha Ascroft has been appointed general manager of the Kedleston Country House, a boutique five-bedroom hotel in Quarndon, Derby.

Ascroft (pictured, right) has experience in a number of venues including the Cockliffe Country House hotel, boutique hotel Cotswolds88 (now known as the Painswick) and most recently as a hotel consultant in the Cotswolds.

The Kedleston reopened in August 2015 following a £1.3m refurbishment and is one of four venues owned by Derby Brewing Company, as well as the Tap in Derby; the Greyhound in Derby; and the Queen's Head in Little Eaton.

Managing director Paul Harris (pictured, left) said: "We are really excited to have Samantha join as our new general manager; her extensive experience and boutique hotel knowledge is impressive but most importantly she brings strong and inspirational leadership and she will be a credit to the Kedleston."

Ascroft added: "I'm really excited to start this new role. It's a fantastic venue and I'm thrilled to be able to bring my experience to the venue and play a key role in the Kedleston fulfilling its potential as a destination to dine this summer."
