The Milk House appoints Joshua Price head chef

The Milk House in Sissinghurst, Kent has announced the appointment of Joshua Price as head chef.

Price, from Wales, previously worked at the Swan & Dog in Ashford, Kent, and was also formerly a senior chef de partie at Mark Hix's restaurant at the Belgraves hotel in London Knightsbridge.

Alongside creating an exciting range of seasonal menus, Price is looking forward to developing the Milk House's Sunday roast offer. Dishes on his forthcoming summer menu at the Milk House (set to launch on 13 June) include grilled langoustines with fennel, smoked lemon and garlic butter; and pomegranate poussin with potato waffle and a red cabbage, spinach and blackberry slaw.

Owners Dane and Sarah Allchorne launched the Milk House three years ago, followed by the opening of the Barrow House in Egerton in September 2016, and have plans to grow their portfolio further in the next few years.

Price said: "I'm excited to have found a role that will give me the freedom to express myself in an environment where I respect the business vision and values. I'm confident that the owners and I share the same appreciation of good local ingredients, prepared to a high standard and without too much complication in the process."

The Milk House's executive head chef and owner Dane Allchorne said: "We're delighted that Joshua has joined our team at the Milk House. He has already demonstrated both technical skill and a passion for food, as well as a sense of humour and the ability to cope under pressure. I'm looking forward to working with him and excited to see how our kitchen will develop."
