RSK Group acquires KMGP Partnership

Environmental and engineering services consultancy RSK has acquired KMGP, known as KMG Partnership, which specialises in food distribution warehouse design and architecture.

One recent key project for KMG was food distributor Bidfood's UK headquarters and multitemperature distribution centre in Slough.

The acquisition will expand RSK's services in architecture and engineering, particularly in online retail warehousing, temperature-controlled storage and distribution and data management centres, and allow KMG to be involved at earlier stages of projects and across a broader range of sectors.

KMG Partnership was formed in 1990 by current managing director and sole shareholder, Kevin McGahan, who will continue in his role after acquisition.

Alan Ryder, RSK chief executive, said: "We are delighted to welcome KMG into RSK. The specialist engineering services that KMG provides will broaden our service base and make us a more diverse business. We are also delighted that Kevin McGahan has agreed to continue to lead the business."

McGahan added: "This is a wonderful opportunity for KMG to develop within RSK's greater environmental services sector and to offer clients a ‘one-stop shop' for land appraisal, planning and development. An exciting future lies ahead."
