McKeever Hotel Group buys Dunadry hotel in County Antrim
The County Antrim-based McKeever Hotel Group has added to its Northern Ireland portfolio of hotels with the acquisition of the Dunadry hotel in Antrim for an undisclosed sum.
The group bought the 80-bedroom hotel from the Mooney Group, which has owned it since 1986 and now owns three hotels: the Armagh City hotel, and the Botanic Inn and Wellington Park hotel in Belfast.
The McKeever Hotel Group already owns and operates the Corr's Corner hotel, Newtownabbey; the Dunsilly hotel, Antrim; the Adair Arms hotel, Ballymena; and Dillons hotel, Letterkenny. The group plans to grow the accommodation, conference and banqueting business at the Dunadry, specifically targeting the tourism and corporate market.
Eugene McKeever, managing director of McKeever Hotel Group, said: "The Dunadry hotel is a great fit for the McKeever Hotel Group and given the buoyant tourism sector, we are delighted to add it to our collection.
"Our hotels are very much at the heart of the local communities in which we operate. As such we will continue to meet the demands and requirements of the local patrons of the Dunadry hotel and it will be very much business as usual. Current bookings will not be affected and all employees will be retained."
A spokesperson for the Mooney Group added: "We are pleased to confirm the sale of the Dunadry hotel to McKeever Hotel Group following an approach and a good purchase offer. We are also pleased that the McKeever Hotel Group has a similar family ethos and will continue to invest and re-invest in their properties. We have no doubt the Dunadry hotel is now in safe hands."
