BrewDog and Wolf pub launch collaborative gin following trademark dispute

BrewDog's spirits brand LoneWolf has teamed up with the Wolf pub in Birmingham to launch the limited-edition Wolf Pack gin, following a trademark dispute earlier this year.

A legal warning was sent to Joshua and Sallie McFadyen, brother and sister operators of the Wolf pub, who wanted to change the name of their business to Lone Wolf in January this year. However, after receiving criticism on social media, BrewDog backed down, blaming "trigger happy" lawyers.

The partnership "symbolises LoneWolf's commitment to collaborating with its community and resolving its differences".

Seventy bottles of the gin will be available in the LoneWolf online shop at 12pm on Tuesday, and in the Wolf pub by the middle of the week. All profits from the Wolf Pack gin will go to the UK Wolf Conservation Trust, which works to protect and conserve wild wolves and their habitats through education.

Sallie McFadyen from the Wolf said: "Making gin has been such a fantastic experience. The guys from LoneWolf Spirits welcomed us, shared their knowledge and hopefully, it has resulted in something we will all enjoy. As we have all discovered, it is better when us wolves stick together. So when LoneWolf asked us which charity we'd like to support, the UK Wolf Conservation Trust seemed like the perfect choice. We hope everyone enjoys the Wolf Pack gin."
