New Ibis Styles planned for Glasgow city centre

A 137-bedroom Ibis Styles hotel is open next year in Glasgow following the development of disused offices on Waterloo Street.

The economy Ibis Styles Glasgow Centre West, which will feature a restaurant and bar, will be operated by Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH) following the signing of a franchise agreement between AccorHotels and private equity company Maven Capital Partners.

It is the second property AccorHotels, Maven and RBH have partnered on in Glasgow, following the launch of the 101-bedroom Ibis Styles Glasgow Centre George Square in 2014 at a cost of £7.35m.

Cristina De Oliveira-Frewen, senior vice-president, franchise hotels UK & Ireland, AccorHotels described the development as "a great new hotel in a prime site" which "marks another step in the growth of our brands in the UK".

"Accelerating the franchise growth of the Ibis Styles brand is one of our strategic priorities and this is the kind of opportunity we're looking to replicate in the right sites across the UK."

Glasgow Centre West is one of 21 Ibis Styles in the UK and is the fourth ibis Styles to be signed in 2017.
