Stow-Away secures funding for Birmingham and London aparthotels
Aparthotel company Stow-Away has secured funding for its first two sites in Birmingham and London.
Stow-Away, a joint venture between private equity firm Ciel Capital, developer Stow Projects and hospitality operator BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, is planning to open a dual occupancy 135-bedroom, design-led hotel in partnership with a "large American operator" and a 51-bedroom Stow-Away aparthotel with restaurants and bars on the ground floor in Birmingham.
Advised by Voltaire Financial, the venture has gained funding from a group of private investors to transform Birmingham's Central Hall. Work is anticipated to start on the £40m development next year should planning permission be granted.
A second 20-bedroom Stow-Away aparthotel made of shipping containers is set to open at Lower Marsh Street in London Waterloo this autumn. The freehold of the site belongs to Network Rail, and the venue is set to have an Unwined wine bar and restaurant operated by A Grape Night In on the ground floor.
The design of the brand is described as "urban luxury", and rooms will offer high quality mattresses and bed linen, and extra large beds.
Stow-Away also has two sites in the pipeline in London, two in Glasgow, and one in Manchester.
