Tender opportunity: Hanley Park, Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is advertising the opportunity to operate three newly restored catering facilities in the historic Hanley Park, Stoke-on-Trent.

Situated in the City's University Quarter midway between the City Centre and the main railway station, Hanley Park annually welcomes one million visitors. Thanks to a £4.6m grant award from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the park is currently being regenerated through an exciting £6m comprehensive restoration scheme, scheduled for completion in summer 2018.

Such significant investment is enabling Hanley Park (A grade II* listed Victorian park) to re-establish itself as a successful, high quality visitor attraction of regional importance, providing visitor facilities expected of such a city park . It is anticipated that the annual visitor numbers will increase by at least 40% once the project is complete to more than 1.4 million.

The City Council is offering a minimum 10 year contract for the following catering venues, located in the newly restored park;

The Boat House
This fully restored boathouse is located in a stunning location, with a Juliet balcony and views across the lake. To operate for a minimum of six months a year as a café and/or private function venue. The boathouse can accommodate 20 covers inside and incorporates a wet/dry dock for boat hire that is to be leased on a separate agreement and advertised on a separate tender.

The Play Area Kiosk
A ‘grab and go' kiosk located in the former bowls pavilion next to the existing play facilities. To provide ice creams, drinks and snacks. To operate for a minimum of 6 months of the year and can accommodate 30 covers seated outside.
