Three Cheers Pub Co takes over ex-Affinity pub

Three Cheers Pub Co is to open the Princess Victoria in Shepherd's Bush, its second acquisition for Six Cheers, its "managed expert" partnership with Ei Managed Investments.

The pub was previously operated by Affinity Bars and Restaurants group, which closed down unexpectedly in July.

Ei Group (formerly Enterprise Inns) will retain the freehold of the pub but it will share the costs of investment and any profits with Three Cheers Pub Co through the Six Cheers vehicle.

It will be the ninth site to be operated by Three Cheers Pub Co, which changed its name from Renaissance Pubs in 2015.

The business, owned by Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox, has sites including the Abbeville, the Avalon and the Stonhouse in Clapham, the Bolingbroke and the Latchmere in Battersea, the Bedford in Balham, the Rosendale in Dulwich and the Tommyfield in Kennington.

The Princess Victoria will be the pub group's first venue in west London.

Peake will work with designer and friend Adam Ellis to rejuvenate the pub. A new front terrace will be introduced in addition to the existing courtyard garden.

The pub will accommodate 150 covers downstairs, a first-floor function room seating 70, and 95 covers outside.

Typical dishes will include Scotch eggs, British charcuterie, puff pastry pies, artisan pizzas and flatbreads.

The pub will reflect its history as a gin palace with a selection of over 100 gins and 40 beers.

Peake said: "We are absolutely delighted to confirm we are taking on The Princess Victoria. It is such a well-loved pub with a rich history and we can't wait to breathe new life into it."

Nathan Wall, operations director for Ei Managed Investments, said: "We're thrilled to be opening this pub with Six Cheers Ltd and strengthen our relationship with them further. We're confident customers will love the new look and offer under the expert management of the team."
