Harben House hotel due to complete £3m refurbishment next month

The 139-bedroom Harben House hotel near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire is due to complete a £3m refurbishment next month.

Previously a De Vere Venues hotel, it was purchased by MCR Property Group in June 2016, the group's first hotel acquisition. Hotel management company Countrywide Hotels was appointed to manage the changeover, ongoing management and development of the hotel.

The redesigned bar and restaurant with a new dining concept will become the focal point of the hotel when they relaunch later this month.

The bedrooms will be redecorated with a neutral colour palette with pops of colour, and will include new fixtures and fittings. The meeting and event spaces will also be brought up to date.

The hotel has remained open throughout the refurbishment. Since MCR's acquisition of the hotel, it has also purchased Warbrook House in Eversley, Hampshire, and is looking at several hotel opportunities in the UK and Europe.

General manager Pete Farrow said: "It will be a fantastic improvement for the hotel and our guests. We will have an exciting new food and drink offering, which I think our guests will really enjoy."
