Mitch Tonks opens private dining room at the Seahorse

Ten years since the Seahorse first opened in Dartmouth, Devon, Mitch Tonks has unveiled a new private dining room.

The Cantina can accommodate 14 covers and has been designed with walnut panelling. It can be booked for special events or meetings.

The restaurant saw the addition of Joe's Bar last year where guests can have pre- and post-dinner drinks including Joe's gin which is distilled outside the restaurant.

Tonks said: "The idea really evolved, we saw an opportunity to take over the space and originally thought it would be a wine room, where our fine wines could be stored and we might run a wine club. We then thought it would be good to dine amongst the wines and have an event space where guests can have celebration lunches and dinners tailored to exactly what they want by choosing their whole experience on line. I love how things change organically!"

Tonks, formerly chief executive of FishWorks restaurant chain, now owns RockFish restaurants with business partner Mat Prowse. RockFish restaurants can be found in Exeter, Exmouth, Torquay, Brixham, Dartmouth and Plymouth.
