New director of operations steps into Waldorf Hilton in London

Xavier Hubert has been appointed as director of operations at the Waldorf Hilton in London's Covent Garden.

Hubert, 37, has worked in the hospitality industry for 19 years, with most of that time spent working for Hilton and Waldorf Astoria.

He will oversee the day-to-day operations at the 298-room hotel, as well as overseeing the development and implementation of operational strategies.

Hubert's previous roles include time as director of food and beverage at Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace Versailles, where he worked closely with Gordon Ramsay at the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant. He also worked alongside one of France's leading pastry chefs, Eddie Benghanem.

He has also held roles in large hotels in Dubai and Ghana, but is now back in the capital having originally opened the Hilton London Tower Bridge and operated the Hilton London Paddington.

Guy Hilton, general manager at the Waldorf Hilton, said: "We are delighted to welcome Xavier to the Waldorf Hilton. He is a proven operations leader and I am confident that he will contribute greatly to the success of the hotel.

"Xavier will play a vital role in maintaining the Waldorf Hilton's prominent position as an iconic London hotel, alongside its impeccable service and sophisticated style."

Hubert added: "I have joined the hotel at a tremendously exciting time, as it prepares to launch a host of new service offerings. I am honoured to be part of and to support this fantastic team.

"This is an extraordinary chance to build on the great work that has been done by the team, both past and present. I hope to make a real and lasting impact."
