Robert Crook heads list of new board members for Starboard Hotels

Robert Crook (pictured), former managing director of Interstate Hotels and Resorts, is one of three new non-executive members to be appointed to the board of Starboard Hotels, the owner and operator of 13 franchised properties.

He has been joined by John Kilty, previously director of Allied Irish Banks UK and Brian Harrigan, one time deputy director of business services at the Metropolitan Police.

Paul Callingham, managing director of Starboard Hotels, said the addition of the three new non-executives will "provide immense strength and further governance to our board, bringing their unrivalled wealth of experience and industry knowledge".

After acquiring 10 hotels within the last three years, Starboard is set for further expansion after announcing the development of a 146-bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel at Park Royal in London. The new hotel will take the Starboard portfolio up to 1,428 bedrooms over 14 hotels, operating under a collection of international brands including Holiday Inn Express, Day Inn, Ibis and Best Western.
