Greg Bellamy leaves the Jolly Fine Pub Group in "very amicable" split
Greg Bellamy has parted ways with business partner Paul Merrett and left the Jolly Fine Pub Group in an amicable split.
The Jolly Fine Pub Group has three pubs with rooms in its portfolio: the Fox and Grapes (Wimbledon), the Malt House (Fulham) and the Victoria (East Sheen).
Bellamy who has co-owned the Victoria with chef, Paul Merrett for over nine years as well as also co-owning the more recently acquired Fox and Grapes and the Malthouse, will move on to undertake new ventures.
The Jolly Fine Pub Group will continue to operate as normal with Paul Merrett at the helm. The recently refurbished Victoria in East Sheen is the group's main focus at the moment where Merrett is currently implementing a new menu.
Speaking to The Caterer last week, Merrett said: "Greg is one of my best friends who then became my business partner. And now he's not my business partner and he still remains a best friend. We've been through a lot together. He ran the operations from the beginning of the Victoria up until very recently and he's left because he's got his eye on a couple of other things and it's not for me to say what they are.
"But it's a very amicable split and I will definitely ring him up and ask him for advice on various things over the coming months, because he's a very good operator and we are poorer for not having him on board. But at the same time it does allow me to look at the whole set-up and think right, how do we move on now and not feel that loss?"
