Camden barmaid found murdered in Finsbury Park

Employees at the World’s End Pub in Camden, London, are mourning the loss of a barmaid who was found dead in nearby Finsbury Park on 27 December.

Iuliana Tudos, a 22-year old originally from Moscow, had spent the early evening with friends.

She left them at 8pm to take the bus home to Finsbury Park from Camden Road, and was to meet up with them later that evening to spend Christmas Day at their home in Enfield, north-east London, but never arrived.

Her friends reported her missing and at 4.25pm a member of the public found her body near her home with a stab wound to the abdomen and a head injury. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metropolitan Police (MET) and London Ambulance Services.

Her next of kin, who are abroad, have been informed. No arrests have been made and the area is still being treated as a crime scene.

Detective chief inspector Nicola Wall is leading the investigation. She said: “Iuliana’s body was discovered in an outbuilding next to a sports pitch.

“We believe that she may have been attacked on Saturday, 24 December – Christmas Eve – but we want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in that part of Finsbury Park over the Christmas period.

“We are still trying to piece together a timeline of events and are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry as regards to a motive.”

Tudos was wearing a black and red hooded top with ‘Agnostic Front’ (an American punk band) on it, with light jeans and black and white Vans shoes. She was carrying a black and white fabric bag which read ‘Fighting against Animal Testing.’

Anyone with information is asked to call the dedicated incident room on 0208 785 8244, tweet @MetCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her family cover funeral expenses. In 11 hours it has raised over £3,000 from almost 200 people.
