We take a look at the brightest new products and special events planned for this year’s Hotelympia show.
The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) will be based within the Professional Kitchen Show at Hotelympia 2018.
John Whitehouse, vice-chair of CESA and chair of the association’s exhibition liaison committee, explained: “The branding better reflects the dynamism and innovation of the equipment sector, and building our sector’s profile will ensure that equipment is at the forefront of visitors’ minds as they come to the show.”
CESA will also launch an app, available to download from its website, to make navigating the show easier for visitors by highlighting relevant stands and suppliers. It will offer a Connectivity Trail, which will allow visitors to go straight to companies that offer ‘connected’ equipment, and a new Energy-Saving Equipment Guide, with a list of ‘green’ appliances.
Winterhalter’s Connected Wash warewashers
Winterhalter will launch its new Connected Wash warewashers alongside its latest passthrough machines and utensil washers. Winterhalter’s Connected Wash technology allows each machine to be monitored from anywhere in the world, using an app on a computer, tablet or smartphone. The new passthrough hood machines, utensil washers and high-volume conveyor washer systems will also be on display.
Lincat will be introducing the Phoenix induction oven range, three new FriFri fryers, a new addition to the FilterFlow series of water boilers and a FriFri griddle. Also on display will be a wide selection of equipment from Lincat’s Opus 800 range of heavy-duty prime cooking equipment.
Meiko UK warewashers
Meiko UK will line up a variety of warewashers at Hotelympia, including the new M-iClean H, an automatic hood machine with a five-year warranty on all electrical and mechanical components of the hood system. Other models on display will include the UPster KM250 Rack Machine; the WasteStar CC; the M-iQ flight-type dishwashing system and the UPster H500 hood-type and undercounter U500 and U400 models.
The Mareno IChef system, available exclusively from Grande Cuisine, will be exhibited in the UK for the first time during Hotelympia. IChef is a fully touch-controlled range, with no mechanical buttons. Its Control Cooking System’s bright display panel is always clearly legible, under all lighting conditions.
Hubbard Systems has signed up to take its biggest ever stand at Hotelympia and will use it to launch its new products from both Scotsman and Comenda. Full details of the new models are yet to be revealed, but Scotsman is likely to show the latest developments for its upcoming range of icemaker systems using ‘greener’ technologies, and Comenda is developing several new lines, including an ultra-efficient under-counter warewasher.
The new Carpigiani 161 portfolio features the company’s smallest soft-serve machine, measuring 300mm x 630mm x 850mm, making it ideal for cafés, coffee shops, small restaurants and kiosks. The 161 also uses air-cooled technology with a removable air filter, channelling hot air out the top and so allowing the unit
to be positioned directly next to another appliance.
Welbilt will have its first appearance at the show since its rebranding from Manitowoc Foodservice last year. Welbilt brands will include the UK launch of the Garland Instinct Induction series, a new equipment launch from Convotherm and the latest innovations from Merrychef.
Classeq will be demonstrating the launch of Ice-O-Matic’s innovative new ‘Elevation Series’ of ice machines, which feature digital diagnostics and a one-touch cleaning, descaling and sanitising feature. The machines also have new, exclusive design technology which discharges hot air from both the side and the top.
Jestic Rosinox Dual Chef
Jestic will be showing off the new Rosinox Dual Chef – a multi-purpose electric double-kettle cooker constructed from high-grade stainless steel. The unit features two full-colour touchscreen displays as well as integrated USB connectivity and recipe memory.
