Glenn Roberts announced as global head of Polar Refrigeration

Polar Refrigeration has announced the appointment of Glenn Roberts as their global head of business, a new position created by Uropa Brands and Products.

Roberts brings a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality industry and more specifically the refrigeration market, having previously spent 14 years at Hoshizaki Gram.

Klaus Goeldenbot, group CEO of Nisbets, owner of Uropa Distribution and Uropa Brands and Products, commented: "I am delighted we have someone of Glenn's stature joining Polar Refrigeration which is part of the successful Uropa Brands wholesale catering equipment business. I wish him every success in his new role, taking Polar to the next stage in its development."

Polar has become a more firmly established commercial refrigeration brand in the UK, Ireland, and across mainland Europe, Australia and New Zealand and Roberts' remit will see him look to further develop the brand in current territories, whilst identifying new market opportunities.

"I'm excited to be taking on this new challenge in a sector of the industry that I know well," Roberts told The Caterer. "I'm looking forward to working alongside the team at Nisbets."

Polar offers a wide range of commercial refrigerators, freezers, blast chillers and ice makers, in addition to recently launched cold rooms.

Roberts will be based at the National Catering Equipment Centre (NCEC) in Bristol which showcases Uropa brands and products and starts in his new role on 1 February 2018.

Roberts also currently holds the post of CESA Chairman.
