Office block close to Trafalgar Square to be converted into 136-room hotel
A five-storey office block close to London's Trafalgar Square is to be converted into a 136-room hotel with restaurant and rooftop bar.
Best Effort Ventures has chosen Willmott Dixon Interiors to convert 7-8 Martins Place in Charing Cross.
St Martins Place Hotel will also house a retail offering in the basement and ground-floor levels as well as retaining an existing Post Office.
The conversion of the 1950s building, which adjoins the Grade II*-listed St Martin's Vicarage, Vestry and School, has been designed by EPR Architects.
Willmott Dixon Interiors managing director Graham Shaw said: "We have a solid track-record in office to hotel conversions, especially in towns and cities, with an experienced team who know the particular challenges this work entails. This is also another big investment in London as one of the world's top destinations for visitors and we're proud to be playing our part in stimulating further growth for our capital."
