Gino D'Acampo plans at least five new openings in 2018

Italian chef Gino D'Acampo has announced he will open a minimum of five restaurants this year, including a 200-seat site in central London.

A new Gino D'Acampo My Restaurant will open in Birmingham before the summer followed by the London venue, in Temple Row, and at least three other sites.

The 8,000 sq ft London site will be split over two floors and include a Prosecco bar, deli, ice-cream bar, private dining, a games room and posh bowling lanes.

Steven Walker, founder of Individual Restaurants who D'Acampo partnered with to launch the restaurant brand, said: "We are delighted with our partnership with Gino, as our business goes from strength to strength with turnover now approaching £100m across all brands."

The first Gino D'Acampo My Restaurant opened in the Corn Exchange, Manchester, late December 2015, the second opened its doors in Euston Station, London, in February 2016 and the third launched in Leeds just before Christmas 2016.

In June 2017 restaurants in Harrogate, Liverpool, Camden and Hull followed as well as a My Pizza & Prosecco Bar in Next at Manchester Arndale.

D'Acampo is due to commence filming his sixth series of Gino's Italian Escape, in May this year.
