Mayfair's Boulestin restaurant sold after falling into administration
Mayfair-based French fine dining restaurant Boulestin has been sold.
The restaurant, which fell into administration on 8 February, has been purchased by Ken Anderson, former owner of the L'Altro Italian restaurant chain, under the company Boulestin St James.
Administrators Griffins Insolvency Practitioners said "all staff will retain their jobs" following the successful sale.
Kevin Goldfarb, appointed administrator, said: "After a brief but very busy marketing exercise the administrators completed the sale to Boulestin St James Ltd yesterday securing not only the future of the restaurant but also continued employment for its entire staff."
The original Boulestin, which was founded by Xavier Marcel Boulestin, the world's first TV chef and food, opened in Covent Garden in 1924, remaining there until 1994.
In 2013 Joel Kissin revived the Boulestin name, having been inspired "by the books, by the man, by the restaurant", when he opened his own restaurant in St James's.
In accounts for the year ending 2016, Boulestin owed £188,164 to creditors. It was also shown that Kissin had provided the business with a £2.4m loan.
