Bidfresh CEO Stephen Oswald completes Sustainability Leadership Master of Studies

Stephen Oswald, the chief executive officer for fresh food specialists, Bidfresh in the UK has been awarded a Master of Studies (MSt) in Sustainability Leadership as a full Masters' degree.

Part of the University of Cambridge's Institute for Sustainability Leadership programme (CISL), the aim of the Masters' qualification is to empower individuals and organisations to take leadership to tackle critical global challenges.

As a company Bidfresh's commitment to sustainability has been further strengthened with the appointment of Paul Leyland to the position of commercial and sustainability director for Oliver Kay Produce.

Suppliers of wholesale fresh fruit and vegetables, Oliver Kay is part of the Bidfresh group of businesses. Leyland, who joined the businesss in 1999, takes on the new role to focus on sustainable operations, including areas such as processes, sourcing, transport and packaging within the Oliver Kay business.

Oswald said: "We take the issue of Sustainability very seriously which is why I chose to study this area. All aspects of our business are areas to consider with regards to sustainability and we feel as a company and as individuals, it is our responsibility to take action and put processes into place to minimise the impact we have on the environment."

The Master of Studies is fully accredited by the University of Cambridge
and focusses on developing students' awareness and understanding of the social, environmental, ethical and economic challenges and opportunities facing the world and assists in their vision and ambition to drive business leadership to achieve real systems change.
