Plans for Milton Keynes Hotel La Tour approved

Plans for a 14-storey Hotel La Tour in Milton Keynes have been approved by Milton Keynes Council.

The site near the city's Marlborough Gate junction is currently used as a coach car park but is set to be transformed into a 251-bedroom luxury hotel with conference and leisure facilities, a rooftop restaurant and bar as well as a top floor viewing area and art exhibitions, which will be named ‘SeeMK'.

The original plans were for the hotel to be 18 storeys, but this was reduced to 14 following consultation.

The first and only Hotel La Tour opened in Birmingham in 2012, the first of what was declared to become a group of five hotels within five years. The hotel was acquired by the Dalata Hotel Group last year and was rebranded as a Clayton hotel.
