Harry Sellick named apprentice of the year at the Purple Umbrella Awards
The Goring's footman Harry Sellick has been named apprentice of the year at the Purple Umbrella Awards.
Six apprentices from across the hospitality sector were recognised for their commitment at the event, which tool place at the Ritz London during National Apprenticeship Week.
Sellick was praised by a judging panel that included Clink Charity chief executive Chris Moore, Ritz London chief executive Ciarán Fahy and The Caterer deputy editor James Stagg for his confidence, drive and the impact he had made on the wider hotel business.
The awards also recognised high achievers including Inga Zubaviciute from the Royal Lancaster London, who was named foundation degree apprentice of the year and chef apprentice of the year Monika Dajda from Georgian House hotel, London.
Umbrella training founder and managing director Adele Oxberry said: "These awards are our opportunity to recognise the hard work and commitment our apprentices give to our sector. We have an incredibly high calibre of talent entering our sector through apprenticeship programmes and it's only right that these brilliant young people are celebrated in this way."
