BrewDog buys Draft House
Independent craft brewer BrewDog has bought the Draft House pub group and its 14-strong portfolio for an undisclosed sum.
BrewDog is planning to invest in the sites and says it may look to expand the brand in future. The bars will continue to operate under the Draft House name.
All 213 members of staff will move across to Brewdog, and the company will be meeting with the Draft House team in the next week to discuss future plans.
Alongside his role as managing director of BrewDog Bars, David McDowall will become managing director of Draft House, taking the reins from founder Charlie McVeigh.
Draft House launched its first site in 2009 in London's Battersea, and opened its 10th bar and first outside of London in Milton Keynes in 2016. It also acquired the Grand Union Group for an undisclosed sum last year.
McDowall said: "Draft House has got an incredible team of engaged people and we'll be doing everything we can to empower them in their business and offer them the support they need to achieve their career goals."
McVeigh added: "I am immensely proud of what we've achieved together and delighted to hand the business over to BrewDog for its next stage of growth. Draft House couldn't be in better hands."
