Inception Group to launch three new bars

Inception Group will open three bars under its Around The World in Eighty Days-inspired Mr Fogg's Collection brand in London.

Mr Fogg's House of Botanicals will open in Fitzrovia in June, followed by Mrs Fogg's, inspired by Aouda, the intrepid explorer's wife in Jules Verne's classic adventure novel, in Broadgate Circle. Mr Fogg's Society of Exploration will launch just off the Strand in October.

The move will double the size of the brand. OakNorth provided Inception Group with growth capital to fund the expansion of the Mr Fogg's Collection brand.

Deepesh Thakrar, senior debt finance director at OakNorth, said: "The London bar and restaurant scene is one of the most competitive in the world. There are numerous chains and, while these can work very well, a lot of people prefer sites that feel more like hidden gems or speakeasies.

Inception, founded by Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling in 2009, operates 10 "conceptual" venues in the capital.
