AccorHotels buys restaurant online booking tool ResDiary

French hospitality group AccorHotels has bought restaurant online booking tool ResDiary.

ResDiary is a software as a service (SaaS) platform for restaurant reservation and table management, used by more than 8,600 venues across 60 countries. The Glasgow-based company, founded in 2004, optimises food and beverage revenues while controlling operational costs, and has customers including TGI Fridays, Loungers, Sapporo Teppanyaki and 35 Michelin-starred restaurants.

Mike Conyers, ResDiary co-founder and chief executive, said: "We have had a very successful relationship with AccorHotels in Asia Pacific, and all the ResDiary team is thrilled to join the group. We are looking forward to expanding our service on a more global level with AccorHotels."

Adrian Reed, managing director of global investment bank GCA Altium, which advised ResDiary on the sale, added: "ResDiary has a differentiated proposition which resonates with its customer base, reflected in the company's rapid global growth and outstanding SaaS metrics."

The acquisition is the latest of AccorHotels' buying spree, which recently has included a 50% stake in the Mantis Group collection, hotel and resort marketer and operator Mantra Group, and business travel hotel reservation company Gekko.
