MasterChef finalist Arnaud Kaziewicz appointed exec chef of Eat

MasterChef: The Professionals 2016 finalist Arnaud Kaziewicz has been appointed executive chef of sandwich chain Eat.

The French-born chef was a finalist on BBC Two's MasterChef: The Professionals in 2016 and previously worked as a sous chef at the two-Michelin-starred Le Champignon Sauvage, as a business development chef for Waitrose, and most recently as head of food development for food importer Donatantonio.

Following his appointment, Eat will introduce new salads focusing on seasonal, British ingredients to its menu on 25 April, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as a new range of baguettes.

The new salad range will include Mexican guacamole and quinoa, Middle Eastern tabbouleh, sweet pepper chicken, high protein super nutty and Sicilian orzo and roasted vegetables. The new baguette range includes ham and Jarlsberg rustic, and French brie and tomato.

Kaziewicz said: "I am excited to join the Eat team to make our food great again. For me, this is an opportunity to get back to basics; simple, fresh ingredients, that are combined to be eaten and enjoyed, and that are always seasoned perfectly."

Holly Oades, marketing director at Eat, added: "Arnaud brings a wealth of culinary knowledge, global travels and experience in food development to ensure Eat is a serious contender on the high street."

Eat opened its first shop in 1996 on Villiers street in London and now has more than 100 shops in London and UK cities and airports.
