GM named for new Doncaster Racecourse hotel
Louise Thrussell has been appointed general manager of the forthcoming Hilton Garden Inn Doncaster Racecourse hotel.
She joins the South Yorkshire property with more than 20 years' hotel industry experience, beginning as a guest services assistant in 2002.
In 2014, Thrussell was named IHG's General Manager of the Year during her tenure at the helm of the Holiday Inn Express in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Most recently she was GM of the Hampton by Hilton Sheffield and Marco's New York Italian restaurant.
Commenting on her new position, Thrussell said: "The hotel's outstanding facilities and the stunning panoramic views the property has to offer will be a hit with both leisure and corporate visitors I'm sure, and will play a key role in attracting a different market to the area.
"I'm looking forward to building links with the local community to showcase the hotel, our growing team and the Hilton Garden Inn's ‘brighthearted' culture, with the aim of helping position Doncaster as a destination of choice."
Hilton Worldwide reached a franchise agreement with Arena Racing Company (ARC) in 2016 to open the 154-bedroom hotel at Doncaster Racecourse under its mid-market Garden Inn brand.
